Treatment options include the potential use of Vivitrol or Suboxone.
Vivitrol
Vivitrol is a once-monthly, non-addictive medicine that is used for opioid and alcohol addiction treatment. Vivitrol (naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension), will be administered by our trained physicians. It is an extended-release injectable form of naltrexone.
The medication is an opioid antagonist that blocks the opioid receptors of the brain for a month with each dosage. This helps patients prevent relapse. When combined with counseling and social support, the medication is not only able to decrease opioid dependence following detox, but can lessen cravings.*

Suboxone
Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) Sublingual Film is a prescription medicine for treatment of opioid dependence that is used alongside with counseling and psychosocial support.
Buprenorphine occupies receptors in the brain without producing all the opioid effects. The receptor is tricked into being satisfied without producing strong feelings of euphoria and without causing significant respiratory depression.*
Suboxone should not be used with medications that contain opioids. Use of suboxone does bring the risk of several potential side effects. What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?
As part of your treatment, you should let your DOCS Urgent Care practitioner know if you have liver problems or a history of liver problems, use of any street/illegal drugs, bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, kidney problems or any other medical conditions, if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Your Healthcare Provider will also have additional questions to help determine the safe potential use of Vivitrol or Suboxone for your addiction recovery treatment at our Bethel location.
