When we spend our time outside, especially in areas that are wooded or have tall grass, you are at a high risk of coming in contact with ticks. Ticks carry bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that can cause diseases in animals and humans. While there are hundreds of known ticks, the most dangerous to people on the east coast include Ixodes Scapularis which is the primary carrier of Lyme Disease. \u00a0When a tick feeds from an infected animal, they pick up the disease.
