Great for us, right? Not really. Ticks carry bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that can cause diseases in animals and humans. While there are hundreds of known ticks, the most dangerous to people on the east coast include Ixodes Scapularis which is the primary carrier of Lyme Disease. Lyme disease is spread by a tick feeding off of an infected animal, and then biting another animal or human.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It\u2019s especially pertinent to get checked for Lyme\u2019s Disease if you\u2019ve been in any wooded or tall grass areas. If you work in brush or are outside all day in New Milford, you are at a higher risk for being exposed to Lyme\u2019s Disease.
