During this time, however, ticks like to come out as well. Ticks are known to carry a variety of viruses and bacteria that can ultimately lead to diseases. This applies for both humans and animals. Prominent on the East Coast and Norwalk area is the Ixodes Scapularis, which frequently carries Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is contracted by being bitten by a tick that has picked it up from an infected animal.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">When you experience a tick bite, do not hesitate to get tested and treated for Lyme Disease. If you live near heavily wooded areas or parks with long grass, be especially careful. Working outside, particularly in high brush, can expose you to more ticks.
