At Home Sleep Testing Services

What Is an At Home Sleep Test?

This specialized at-home sleep testing is performed in your own comfortable environment and with your family members nearby.  The tests monitor your sleep patterns, interruptions and your breathing patterns, and generate results used by our doctors to diagnose your sleep disorder.

Common Sleep Apnea symptoms include:

  •    Waking up with a very sore or dry throat
  •    Loud snoring
  •    Occasionally waking up with a choking or gasping sensation
  •    Sleepiness or lack of energy during the day
  •    Sleepiness while driving
  •    Morning headaches
  •    Restless sleep

Here at the DOCS Medical Group in Waterbury, our team is committed to providing at-home tests to all our patients in need. The test generates results regarding sleep and breathing patterns that are necessary to perform an accurate sleep analysis and diagnosis. The tests are very effective, even though they do not monitor how long you are asleep, and whether you are a light or a heavy sleeper.

At Home Sleep Tests

Sleep Apnea Testing

The at-home sleep apnea test monitors you while you are asleep. The results attained by the testing are later analyzed by one of our doctors, and are used to determine what type of sleep disorder you suffer from, if any. One of the most important test results needed for your diagnosis is the record of how many times you stop breathing while you are asleep.

Here at the Waterbury clinic, we provide patients with all the information they need about the use of the equipment, and the proper alignment of the sleep sensors.

Measuring Your Results

The tests accurately monitor sleep and breathing activities and generate a record of all the activities. When the test is complete, the recorded data is used by our doctors to determine whether or not you suffer from a sleep disorder. They analyze and assess all the information, and once they have completed their review, will schedule a follow up appointment with you to go over all their findings.

If the tests indicate that you suffer from OSA, your doctor will refer you to a sleep specialist.  If there is no finding of OSA, additional testing may be required to further analyze sleep patterns. Your doctor may choose to simply refer you to the sleep specialist.

Sleep Disorder Treatment

When indications point to the presence of OSA, your doctor will then refer you to one of our licensed sleep specialists located at our Norwalk or Orange locations. They will perform both an evaluation and assessment of your test results, and follow up with a personalized treatment plan that meets with your needs.
