What to Know About DOT Physicals
What is a DOT (department of transportation) Physical?
Our Waterbury, CT walk-in clinic can give you the necessary DOT physical in our facility. A DOT (Department of Transportation) physical is essential for all commercial drivers to renew every two years. It assesses the mental and physical capacities of each driver to conclude if they are medically healthy enough to drive a commercial vehicle. DOT physicals are overseen by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and decide if a driver is in stable health. The DOT physical is the same test as the CDL (commercial driver’s license) physical exam.
D.O.T. physicals are designed to figure out if the driver has any standing physical, mental, and emotional problems that might negatively impact the person’s ability to reliably operate a commercial vehicle. D.O.T./C.D.L. examiners are specially trained to understand the regulations in order to prevent drivers from being inappropriately disqualified. For more details, or to get your D.O.T (C.D.L.) physical, come by our Waterbury, CT walk-in clinic.
