Hypertension

Most of us will have hypertension during our life. Many of us can reduce our risk of hypertension with appropriate diet, exercise, weight reduction, and avoidance of some medications. Others who require treatment should consider the evaluation of their therapy with a specialist in hypertension. I believe that patients should be placed on the simplest regimen possible and that other underlying illnesses be considered when prescribing medications.

Did you know some BP medications can cause gout, swelling of your legs, asthma, increase fatigue, or erectile dysfunction? Or some may reduce hot flashes or the risk of kidney stones?
