COVID-19 Symptoms

The most recurring symptoms of COVID-19 are those similar to that of the flu, common colds, and pneumonia. These symptoms include congestion, fever, cough, and shortness of breath. We recommend, if possible, that you contact your local ER and make them aware of your arrival beforehand.

Who Should Get Tested?

Approximately 80% of individuals infected with COVID-19 won’t require medical treatment. Only those experiencing severe symptoms, like shortness of breath and difficulty breathing, should report to the Emergency Department. If you are not experiencing severe symptoms you should stay at home and self-isolate.

Urgent care is offering antibody testing for COVID-19 is available at our East Haven office. During an antibody test blood is drawn and then sent to an off-site lab for testing. This test will try to detect the presence of certain antibodies in your blood system that can determine if you have been infected or not.

Rapid Diagnostic Testing

East Haven office can also provide our patients with a rapid diagnostic test. This test is more advanced and effective at testing for COVID-19. It takes as little as 15 minutes for test results.

Our East Haven office has access to our own Quidel Sofia 2 diagnostic machine. The machine tests for the COVID-19 virus, by processing collected nasopharyngeal swabs. Quidel Sofia 2 diagnostic machines can even give your test results before you even leave the office.
