Acute Illness or Injuries
For those students suffering with acute illnesses or injuries, the team here at DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven is on hand to provide specialized care and treatment as needed. Our student patients can enjoy the many benefits we offer including our walk-in welcome policy, our extended after hours and our weekend hours as well. Flu Shots
Flu season can be a scary time of year. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven, we administer flu vaccinations to all our student patients. Flu shots help your body to develop those antibodies needed to fight off infections linked directly to the virus. Influenza a (H1N1) virus, Influenza A (H3H2) virus, and Influenza B virus are some of the more common strains of the virus that the body fights off when equipped with the proper antibodies.
At DOCS we recommend that all individuals over the age of six have flu shots, keeping in mind that those individuals suffering with chronic illnesses may be at a higher risk for complications from the vaccinations.
Travel Immunizations
When traveling abroad, individuals need to give focus to disease preventing travel immunization shots. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven our team of specialists are equipped to administer these vaccinations to individuals before beginning their travels abroad.

DOCS also provides highly confidential care and treatment to students who have multiple sexual partners, are currently sexually active, or have had unprotected sex and are experiencing symptoms, with our standard STD testing. Our team here at DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven is readily available to administer STD testing. Testing is typically completed quickly and confidentially, unless we find it necessary to send you elsewhere for further evaluation. STD testing includes taking urine or blood samples, swabs (mouth, genitals, sores, discharge), and physical exams. Students who do not wish to just use our walk-in services can schedule a confidential appointment in advance.

Entrance into school usually requires a school physical and for those participating in sports, sports physicals are required as well. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven our physicians will collect pertinent family history during your appointment to determine if additional testing is required in addition to the typical physical exams we administer. Typical exams include checking your vitals, hearing, vision and any other testing needed for specific sports or activities.
