COVID-19 Symptoms

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include shortness of breath, fever, dry cough and congestion. These symptoms can also be characteristic of the flu, pneumonia and common cold. If you experience these symptoms after being in contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 then your chances of testing positive are increased. If your symptoms become severe and you need to go to the ER, make sure to call ahead. Please do not show up without calling first.

Who Should Get Tested?

Unless you are experiencing severe symptoms, you should not get tested for COVID-19, but rather self-isolate yourself at home. If you are experiencing symptoms that are connected to COVID-19 but have not been around someone with a confirmed case, contact us prior to an in-person appointment

COVID-19 Testing Offered in Norwalk

Blood Drawing for Antibody Testing

DOCS Urgent Care of Norwalk has the capability to test to see if you have been infected by COVID-19 in the past by searching for antibodies. After blood is drawn, it will be sent to an off-site lab where they can then search for antibodies. If antibodies are found then it would tell us that you were previously infected by COVID-19.

Rapid Diagnostic Testing

DOCS is able to offer our patients rapid diagnostic testing in Norwalk. This is a more advanced and effective testing for COVID-19. This test allows us to give you results in as little as 15 minutes.

Our Norwalk office is equipped with the Quidel Sofia 2 diagnostic machine. In order to test you for
COVID-19 we will need to take a nasopharyngeal swab. We can then test the sample on site, giving you the results before you even leave our office.
