Acute Illness or Injuries

In addition, we offer those students in need of medical attention for acute illnesses or injuries, the highest quality care and attention. Flu Shots

Flu season can be a bit of a challenge for everyone. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of Stamford we are on hand to administer flu shots to students. Flu vaccinations help provide the body with the antibodies needed to fight off the flu. Some of the more common strains of the virus that flu vaccinations can ward off include Influenza a (H1N1) virus, Influenza A (H3H2) virus, and Influenza B virus.

Anybody over the age of 6 should have a flu shot. Individuals suffering with chronic illnesses however, tend to be at a higher risk for complications from the vaccinations.

Travel Immunizations

Here at DOCS Urgent Care of Stamford our team also administers disease preventing travel immunization shots to those students traveling abroad.

Our doctors provide STD testing to those students who have multiple sexual partners, are currently sexually active, or have had unprotected sex and are experiencing symptoms. STD testing administered includes taking urine or blood samples, swabs (mouth, genitals, sores, discharge), and physical exams. The testing is completed quickly and, of course, confidentially, that is unless we find it necessary to send you to another physician for further evaluation. Students can schedule a confidential appointment or can take advantage of our convenient walk-in services.

School & Sports Physicals

If a student is in need of a school physical or a sports physical our team of doctors have got you covered. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of Stamford we perform routine physicals and sports exams and gather family history during your visit to determine if additional testing is required. A routine physical exam includes checking your vitals, hearing, vision and any other testing needed to meet the requirements of any particular sport.
