Acute Illness or Injuries

We provide students in need with treatments for injuries and acute illnesses. Here at DOCS Urgent Care of Waterbury we want our student patients to enjoy the variety of benefits our clinic affords them including a friendly walk-in welcome policy, extended after hours and weekend hours as well.

Flu Shots

Our doctors are on hand to administer flu shots to students. Flu season can be a risk to everyone which is why we encourage anyone over the age of 6 to get a flu shot. Individuals suffering with chronic illnesses, however, may be at a higher risk of complications from the vaccinations that provide your body with the various antibodies needed to fight off a variety of strains including Influenza a (H1N1) virus, Influenza A (H3H2) virus, and Influenza B virus.

Travel Immunizations

Travelling abroad for many students is a lifetime adventure. However, if you come in contact with viruses or bacteria your travel plans are sure to be interrupted. The team here at DOCS Urgent Care of Waterbury is on hand to administer disease preventing travel immunization shots in advance of your travels abroad.

We also provide our student patients with confidential STD testing here at DOCS Urgent Care of Waterbury. Our doctors will administer testing to those students who have multiple sexual partners, are currently sexually active, or have had unprotected sex and are experiencing symptoms. STD testing includes collecting urine or blood samples, swabs (mouth, genitals, sores, discharge), and physical exams. All tests are completed quickly and, of course, confidentially, unless we need to send you to another physician for further evaluation. Students may opt for a private, confidential appointment or may choose to take advantage of our convenient walk-in services.
